Because of you, last year we saw a shift in attitudes across the advice market, with over 600 of our advisers committing to centring protection conversations with their customers. Not to mention, you raised more than £10,000 for The British Heart Foundation.


So once again, we're challenging you to make comprehensive protection and general insurance recommendations as part of your mortgage advice for every customer.

We want to continue to support the industry. With 73% of financial advisers saying they have protection conversations with every customer, we know we've made great strides in positively influencing the advice process - but there's still more to do. We can't stop there.


60% of people in the UK with a mortgage have life cover in place to protect themselves in case the homeowner dies. But the most worrying statistics show that 71% of people with a mortgage have no protection in place if they were diagnosed with a critical illness. And 81% of mortgage owners have no income protection in place.* 


So once again, we're challenging you to provide a protection and general insurance recommendation to every mortgage customer.

About 'Turn2Us' charity

Sesame Bankhall Group and The Exeter are each donating £5 for every adviser that signs-up to the charter during the campaign period to Turn2Us.


This national charity offers grants of financial support to help people get back on track after illness, job loss, bereavement, and relationship breakdowns.


Any of our lives can be turned upside down because of unforeseen circumstances. And too often we see these life events trap people in poverty. Turn2Us want to stop people being swept into poverty by giving practical help to anyone already struggling to cope. They help people find financial support such as welfare benefits, charitable grants and other support so that they can get their lives back on track.
